Homeroom Parent Coordinator: 

Responsible for coordinating and assisting home room parent volunteers throughout the school year with teacher support and class communication to parents. Assign homeroom parents to classes from volunteer list, conduct homeroom parent meeting at the beginning of the year, initiate class party planning and be at the school on party days, initiate Teacher Appreciation Week planning, and other events as needed.

Time Commitment:

Flexible and varies with majority of the time being at the beginning of the school year and during class parties.

Homeroom Parent (HRP): 

Due to the popularity of homeroom parent, you can only be homeroom parent for one class. Volunteers will partner with the Homeroom Teacher to communicate and coordinate information with classroom parents. HRP will also be responsible for all class parties, coordinating Teacher Appreciation Week for the class, assist with recruiting Parent Readers, and other various events. They have the first opportunity to sign up as an End of Year (EOY) party volunteer. Yes! Dads can be HRP!  

TIME COMMITMENT:

Flexible and varies with most being done through email. Due to this position being the point of contact for all parents within the class, the time requirement will vary depending on the time of year. Beginning of the year communication, Holiday Party, Teacher Appreciation Week, and optional EOY party volunteer, seem to be the events with a larger amount of time commitment for this role.
